Celebrate the Grand Reopening Fundraiser!

Event Details:

  • Grand Reopening: Saturday May 10th at 6-8 PM
  • Location: Tioga County Historical Society
  • 110 Front Street Owego NY 13827
  • 3 New Exhibits: Now he Belongs to the Ages, Farm to Fabric, Remember Earth Day
  1. Grand Reception: The program opens at 6:00 with a few remarks, and then, Rick Pedro will be performing from 6:15-7:45 PM in the Main Gallery, and refreshments and food will be available on the lower level of the museum. We encourage you to walk through the building to see all the improvements. These include replacing all the carpeting on the upper level, moving the Research Center to the upper level, stripping and polishing all the lower-level floors (first time in 13 years), moving the archival collections above the 2011 flood level, and moving the gift shop in our upper-level hallway outside of the main exhibit rooms.
  2. Plus, we will have displays of our proposed additions to the rear of the building that will allow all the collections to be moved to the safety of the upper level and above the flood levels. It will only cost about $2 million. Remember, I said this was a fundraiser for the museum, so remember to bring your wallets, checkbooks, credit cards, and ingots of gold.
