AAHM Set Up

Every year, more than 80 volunteers help the Tioga History Museum meet its mission and goals by donating in excess of 3,000 hours per year to the Museum. We would like to take a moment to thank all our volunteers for their hard work and dedication.

Volunteers perform a variety of duties throughout the Museum. All the “behind the scenes” work at the museum, including genealogy and collections, are performed by hardworking volunteers.  Our volunteers are from diverse backgrounds and reflect the population of Tioga County. Learn more about volunteering below.

Volunteers who work with the Public

Volunteers who work with the public conduct tours of special exhibitions, staff information desks, engage visitors, and answer a variety of questions.  Apply now to make a real difference in the lives of others and to meet other volunteers who are also passionate about local history and learning.

Volunteers who work Behind-the-Scenes

Volunteers who work behind the scenes offer a wide range of essential services for the museum. These volunteers work side-by-side performing genealogy services, working with our Curator, and more. Skills generally required are organizational and administrative in nature and might include providing computer and clerical services, cataloging our collection, or even housekeeping and landscaping services.
